Wandering Wight
Optional Boss — Forest of Wolves
Strategy
Phase 1
The Wandering Wight uses slow but powerful overhead swings. His attacks have long reach and high damage, but the wind-ups are generous. Dodge sideways (not backward) to avoid his horizontal sweeps. Watch carefully for his grab attack: it has a long wind-up where he raises both arms, but it tracks aggressively. Dodge at the last moment toward his side to escape. Punish his recovery frames with 2-3 light attacks, then reposition.
Phase 2 (HP < 50%)
Below 50% HP, the Wandering Wight becomes enraged. His attack speed increases significantly and combo strings get longer. He adds a rapid triple-slam sequence that can catch dodge rolls. Keep your distance during his enrage burst and wait for recovery windows. Use the Immobilize spell to freeze him during his faster combos, then unload heavy attacks. Spirit abilities that deal stagger damage are very effective during this phase.
Use a Fire Staff (火杖) to exploit his fire weakness. Pair it with a dodge-focused build that maximizes i-frames. The Immobilize spell (定身术) is highly effective for creating damage windows in both phases.
Quick Tips
- Don't fight early. The Wandering Wight is an optional boss. If you're struggling, come back after leveling up and upgrading your gear.
- Dodge into attacks, not away. Many of his swings have forward momentum. Dodging toward him places you at his flank where follow-up hits miss.
- Use Spirit abilities between phases. Save your Spirit charge for the Phase 2 transition to stagger him before he builds momentum.
- Circle to his left. Most of his right-hand swings have a blind spot on his left side. Stay there when in melee range.
- Reward: Wandering Wight Spirit. Absorbing his Spirit grants a powerful ground-slam ability with high stagger, useful throughout the entire game.
